Come and get it. The book is ready. Please keep in mind that I did very minimal editing. Basically, I changed any typos or glaring grammatical errors and called it good. Get your hands on a copy here:

For the cheapskates, there is a free download available. For anyone unwilling to read from a computer screen or print out 190 pages, a print version can be had for whatever it costs the Lulu people to print a copy.
So have at it, but remember, I don’t care about your literary criticism and therefore request that you keep it to yourself. Same goes for cover art. I actually had one entire class session devoted to book covers in library school. You will not be able to tell that I am so highly trained by glancing at my efforts as a designer, so feel free to chuckle and make disgusted faces when I can’t see or hear them.

Did you think I didn’t make it? Well, probably because I didn’t update the word count on this blog.
Hooray! I wrote 50,000 words in 30 days. There are 121 pages in my Word document (single spaced).
Stay tuned and I will let you know if/when/where/how you can read the novel.

Lincoln is taking a bath between me and my computer. It isn’t helping. The end is near, but I think I might just make it. Perhaps by the end of tonite I’ll have passed the 40k mark.
I don’t want to jinx myself or make sweeping predictions. I’ll just keep my head down and keep writing. Cross your fingers for me.

My word count is just above 33k now. That’s about two-thirds of the way through. I’ve got four days left.
Luckily the word count verification doesn’t sift through my document for pure crap. That is something that I alone have to live with.

I believe it’s more than three quarters of the way through the month and I am just now halfway through the word count. Things look a little bleak, but there is still a good chunk of weekend left.
Stay tuned.

Instead of typing words to add to my word count, I am typing words to shoot bad dudes in the best typing game ever.

It’s hard to write with a snuggly purring kitty cat on your lap, but it’s hard to kick a snuggly purring kitty cat off your lap so you can write.
At any rate, my rate of words per day is horribly low. I should be at 90 bazillion words by now. I am behind. That’s why I’m blogging instead of writing.
There are less than ten days left and I am not even halfway done.

Instead of actually writing, or even actually writing a post, I offer another excerpt:
“Unfortunately the seminar was a boring lecture that told the tale of the bottled water industry from the beginning of bottles all the way into the future. There were a lot of intricate details about various bottling methods and segments of consumers. There were graphs of sales figures and profit margins. There was nothing about the taste of water and there was nothing about where various sources of delicious water could be found in the world. Those were the things I was interested in.
I bought some more bottles of water to taste so my day wouldn’t feel like a total loss. There were a lot of fancy plastic containers, but they all tasted the same to me. They tasted exactly like nothing. Well, later they all tasted a little like my garlicky pasta dinner, but still exactly the same when compared with each other. I turned in with little hope of actually gaining anything from my expensive trip.”
A reminder of the disclaimer: no Judgy McJudgesalot.

Since the battery on my new laptop actually works, I have been throwing down a few words before I hit the hay.
My novel is now peeking over the edge of 18,000.
I am running out of steam a little bit. Perhaps I’m a little bored of the story. I guess that’s means I’ve got to move in a new direction.

I have been a busy busy lady, which means that I haven’t been doing my writing. It’s about halfway through, so I guess I should be at 25,000. Unfortunately I’m sitting at just under 18,000.
That leaves me behind. That’s the bad news.
The worse news is that I’m going out of town for a long weekend.
